Since 2012, Terrill and Carol have offered engaging moving/writing workshops in privatestudios, conferences, educational and community settings in Montreal, Vancouver, Haliburton, Prince Edward County, Toronto and online. The Embodied Writing workshops meld motion, sensation, gesture and text, intriguing participants with the joyful process of diving into the act of writing without judgment or preconception. The workshops gently encourage reflective personal exploration and insight, and foster fresh, unfiltered experience of body/mind expression in a supportive circle of writers. Conscious movement, led by Terrill, will guide participants to move mindfully, with intent to integrate mind, body, heart and soul, opening creative channels. Guided writing, led by Carol, will prompt and support writing that investigates embodied memory, sensation, and personal creative expression. No experience in either movement OR writing are required. Comfortable clothing that allows for movement, and a pen or pencil, notebook, journal, or paper to write on are the only necessary supplies. Carol Anderson is a lifelong dance artist, writer, movement educator, and devotee of the personal creative potential of writing. Terrill Maguire is a dancer, choreographer and movement educator with an enduring commitment to animating diverse communities.
