Errol Blackwood – from the Maroon Hills of Jamaica- is a performer of reggae,
roots & blues acoustic music. He has won eleven music awards, including Much
Music’s Best Video, CRMA Best CD, Best Toronto live band, Best Singer & a Juno
Award. A veteran recording artist, he has also composed music for film & TV.
He led the famed Reggae bands Messenjah & Injah. His compositions frequently touch on
social justice, unity, and spiritual awakening. Errol — like reggae mentors Bob Marley and Jimmy Cliff — is about “uplifting music about peace, love and justice,” Errol Blackwood is a living example of the global influence of Roots Reggae and Reggae music in a world where music has the ability to transcend national boundaries.
